Set down your bags at the camping de l’Hippodrome!The camping de l’Hippodrome welcomes you every day from April 4th, 2026.
Low season: 9:00 am to 12:30 pm and 3:00 pm to 7:30 pm
High season: 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Our commitments
Following its “Tourism & Disability” certification, the reception area, one sanitary block, the playground, and 50% of the pitches are accessible to people with reduced mobility.The campsite also offers a 6-person chalet certified for all four types of disabilities: hearing, mental, motor, and visual. In addition, the campsite has held the “Camping Qualité” label since 2003, guaranteeing a warm welcome, impeccable cleanliness, accurate and reliable information, well-maintained private pitches, and a preserved and respected environment.
Lastly, the campsite received the “Accueil Vélo” label in 2016, ensuring a high-quality welcome for cycle tourists.
Pets
Pets are allowed on pitches upon presentation of a vaccination record, but they are not permitted inside rental accommodations.Zero pesticides

Created in the 1980s, the Hippodrome Campsite of Sablé-sur-Sarthe has continuously developed over the years. In addition to its swimming pool built in 1996 and the renovation of its two sanitary blocks in 2005, the campsite expanded its range of accommodation by acquiring two 6-person mobile homes in 2003 and five wooden chalets in 2013, including one accessible to people with reduced mobility.In 2019, two “bivouac” units were installed.
The latest additions, in 2025, include a 2-bedroom cottage and a 3-bedroom cottage.
The entire campsite team, along with the services of the City of Sablé-sur-Sarthe who are committed every year, will be delighted to welcome you.

- The swimming pool (unheated) is open from mid-June to mid-September, from 10 am to 8 pm.
- It includes a large 80 m² pool and a 22 m² paddling pool.
